First Aid Kit

The internet has pretty much made a band's age and hometown completely irrelevant. A band's influences used to be limited to artists you were able to see in your city and stuff that an older brother or parent played you... First Aid Kit are a truly modern band and represent an extreme in this exciting new landscape we find ourselves in. Swedish teenagers Klara (16) and Johanna (19) Soderberg draw influence from music that was made thirty, forty, fifty years before they were born... songs from the Harry Smith's Anthology Of American Folk Music all the way through to freak folk scene that blew up a few years back.

The Deaf Institute is psyched to have them back... Their show earlier this year was a complete highlight, albeit a slightly weird one. "I love you Johanna" seemed a little inappropriate coming from a chap in his thirties.

If you're a fan of Fleet Foxes, Joanna Newsom or Devendra Banhardt then you shouldn't really miss this.
