The Super Furries excel again, effortless, freaky pop music. One of the gigs of the year at The Ritz too.

This could be a sister album to The Flaming Lips' Embryonic, there's a new sound every time you listen.

This album is a big, glorious mess from start to finish.
Lightning Bolt - Earthly Delights
This year, riffs do not get any more pummeling than this.
The Lemonheads - Varshons
Recorded by all time hero of mine Gibby Hanes of Butthole Surfers. Notable for ace cover versions of GG Allin and Christina Aguilera and any album that combines these two is ace in my book.

Members of Two Lone Sworsdmen live group and Barry 7 of Add N To (X) and incidently playing the Chips Xmas party! Entirely composed on the Nintendo DS using DS-10, inspiring stuff!
